In order to extend our services, Naves decided to incorporate a liner division. This is how Naves became the General Agent for 3 shipping lines in Colombia in the 1990s:

Intermarine Corp: We started our regular line activities as general agent of IMC in Colombia’s Atlantic Coast Ports. This line specializes its activity in transporting project cargo, overweight and extra measured cargo, break bulk and containerized cargo. The main route of IMC for Colombia covers the US Gulf (Houston), Colombia Atlantic Coast ports (Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Cartagena) and Venezuela with the possibility of calling Mexico, Brasil, Argentina and Asia under inducement.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics: specialized in RO RO cargo, covering the South American Atlantic Coast (Brasil, Colombia), Mexico, the US Gulf and East Coast. With Panama as Hub, WWL is able to serve worldwide.
As general agents, we support our principals in all operative and commercial matters, with commercial offices in Bogota, Cali and Medellín and with support of the port offices. We count with a customer service back office in which we take care of our customers’ needs. As a division’s service, we have acquired specialized software for container control, bookings and documentation as well as port statistics. We prepare commercial forecasts and budgets that allow us to give to our clients a personalized and added value service and to maintain our principals informed about local market conditions. Also, the liner division keeps in constant relation with all maritime and port authorities, customs and in general, all the parts involved in the vessel’s operation. |
