Naves began its shipping agency activity attending tramp vessels. As agents, we care for the efficiency of operations, in order to allow vessels in Colombian ports to have an economic and quick turnaround.
When our company is appointed as your ship agent, our main concern is to keep the involved parts informed, even since the loading port, by sending information regarding the operation, in order to allow everybody to be prepared before the vessel’s arrival to prevent any delays when arriving at Colombian Ports. We previously inform the local port situation, berthing/discharging prospects and send the D/A forms to owners.
Once the vessel is at a Colombian port, we send at least 2 full electronic reports regarding the operation and call our clients every day to give a last minute report. All these services are supported by an efficient communication network, including mobile phones, internet service and radio communications that allow us to be in permanent contact between our main and port offices with all the involved parts, including the vessel, ship owners, brokers, final receivers, authorities, stevedores and customs agents.
Along with our close communication with our clients, we also are in contact with the ship master in order to obtain current information regarding vessel’s certifications such as Marpol, SOLAS, ISPS, IOPP among others and to inform national authorities that the ship is complying with international regulations. To be in line with our customer needs, we are flexible with our statement of facts formats so they can fit with the laytime calculation program of all our clients, but also, we count with an specialized software that allows us to prepare and issue the vessel’s Statement of Facts and run the laytime calculations if our customers require it, once the vessel has completed its operation. Finally, as another added value service, Naves has been developing an information data system which is updated monthly and allows our costumers, to receive important data that constitutes an invaluable tool to analyze the Colombian Market. |
