Brazilian group will make a port for exporting coal from Guajira

The MPX mining, energy branch of the Brazilian EBX group of businessman Eike Batista, said Thursday it bought 521 hectares in the region Dibulla, La Guajira, to create a port with export capacity to 20 million tons of coal a year .

The area acquired is located approximately 150 kilometers of concession areas of MPX.

According to a company statement to the market, the beginning of the operation of the mines is planned for the second half of 2011.

MPX also reported that the start of the operation of the mines is planned for the second half of 2011. In March 2010 it completed the second technical report resources and reserves of coal, the company prepared by John T. Boyd.

"MPX control passes to a major integrated mining of coal exploitation in Colombia, which will supply the Brazilian and international markets," said company through the press.
